Chapter 5
Merit
I sat up in my bed thinking about the night I just had. I couldn’t get Ali off my mind. I just sent her a text hoping she’d respond as soon as she woke up and to my surprise she immediately texted back. I quickly thought of some smart ass comment to text and waited for her to curse me out. I don’t know why I keep trying to see her pissed off side. Maybe it turns me on. I waited for her response and was a little disappointed by her lack of banter. I tried once more, only for her to send some smart ass comment about getting dicked down, like I wanted the visual of that old pervert sweating over her. I decided to end the text before I ended up sending her something that would ruin my chances. As I threw the phone down, Bandit came into my room begging for a treat. The little mutt thought that I was the pet and he was the owner. I ignored his request and rolled over in my bed. The little mutt must have taken the hint because he trotted out of the room. Just as I started to finally doze off, the little mutt came in barking. I jumped out of bed on a mission to shut the little mongrel up when I noticed something in his mouth. I reached for it and after playing tug of war for five minutes, I retrieved a pink rectangular object and opened it.
Her wallet. Now I have an excuse to visit her on Monday.
“Bandit, you little kleptomaniac.” I rubbed beneath the dog’s ear and rewarded him with a treat. He must’ve stolen her wallet when she begged me to let him out after hearing him whine for an hour straight.
A savory aroma drifted to my nose, and I followed it to the kitchen where I spotted Jason over the stove cooking steak and eggs. I looked at the clock and realized it was seven in the morning. I knew Jason must have had a better night than me.
“Morning,” he sang as he danced to music only he could hear.
“I see somebody had an extra dose of vitamin D this morning,” I stated dryly.
He spun around giving me that look that only women do so well when they’re getting ready to let you have it.
“First of all,” he sucked, “don’t be getting mad at me ‘cause your little scheme didn’t play out the way you wanted. And secondly, boo boo, don’ worry about how many doses I received last night. You just worry about rubbing some color back into those blue balls she left you with.”
“I see the diva is out early this morning. How long are you going to be here again?”
“Are you trying to throw me out already?” he questioned as he placed a plate with steak, eggs and toast out in front of me.
“Now, you know I’m not putting you out. My house is so clean when you’re here.
